A SCALABLE E-FUEL ENGINE FAMILY
Technomot is developing a scalable engine platform intended to support renewable synthetic fuels across marine, rail, industrial and power-generation applications.
The platform consists of three power classes: Falcon, Dragon and Titan. Technomot’s technical materials present Falcon with outputs of up to 1,500 kW, Dragon up to 2,500 kW and Titan up to 5,000 kW. Together, they form a modular family designed for different operating profiles and power requirements.
ENGINEERING AROUND FUTURE FUELS
Technomot’s development approach combines combustion analysis, fuel admission and injection strategies, thermodynamic performance modelling and computational fluid dynamics.
The engineering programme also covers finite-element analysis, structural development, engine safety, single-cylinder testing and testbed validation. These processes are intended to adapt heavy-duty engine architecture to the characteristics and operational demands of renewable fuels.
FROM RENEWABLE FUEL TO INDUSTRIAL POWER
Titan represents the highest-output end of the proposed family. Technical specifications describe 8-, 12-, 16- and 20-cylinder configurations for rail traction, marine propulsion and generator-set duties. Falcon and Dragon extend the platform into lower and intermediate power classes.
The development highlights the role engine technology could play in converting renewable fuels into reliable power for sectors that remain difficult to electrify directly. Fuel-specific certification, independent validation and real-world demonstration will be important as the platforms progress towards deployment.
