Enilive Adds Around 320 European Service Stations
Enilive signed a binding agreement on July 23, 2026 to acquire OIL! Tankstellen from Prax, expanding its fuel retail presence across Germany, Denmark, Austria and Switzerland.
The transaction covers approximately 320 service stations and remains subject to customary regulatory approvals.
Enilive already operates around 5,300 service stations across Europe.
The acquisition will therefore expand an existing retail platform rather than create a new network from scratch, giving the company additional locations through which it can distribute both conventional energy products and lower-emission transport fuels.
HVO Is Becoming a Larger Part of the Retail Fuel Offer
A key element of Enilive’s strategy is the expansion of HVO diesel produced from renewable feedstocks.
The company says HVO is currently available at around 1,700 stations across Europe.
The fuel is produced at Enilive’s biorefineries in Venice and Gela from 100 percent renewable feedstocks and can be supplied through existing liquid-fuel distribution infrastructure.
Following completion of the acquisition, the OIL! stations are expected to be progressively integrated into Enilive’s wider network.
That creates the potential for renewable diesel to become available through a broader retail footprint in northern and central Europe.
Distribution Is Becoming as Important as Production
Much of the renewable fuels debate focuses on new production capacity, but commercial scale also depends on how easily fuel can reach end users.
Expanding the number of retail locations offering HVO can make renewable diesel accessible to more passenger vehicles and commercial fleets without requiring an entirely separate refuelling network.
The OIL! acquisition also gives Enilive a stronger presence in Germany while adding a new retail position in Denmark and expanding its activities in Austria and Switzerland.
The transaction has not yet closed and still requires regulatory approval, so the integration programme remains conditional.
If completed, however, the deal would illustrate a broader stage in biofuel market development: renewable diesel moving beyond specialised supply arrangements and becoming part of mainstream European fuel retail infrastructure.
